Carley Olson Kokal is a Twin Cities based clarinetist/bass clarinetist, who performs regularly as a chamber and orchestral musician. She combines her classical training and interest in experimental and improvised sounds - playing regularly with Realtree, Lip Gym, and Zack Baltich Music, as well as in more traditional classical capacities. Carley is an active teacher, passionate about teaching individual students and small ensembles.
Carley holds a Master of Music degree from the University of Minnesota, where she studied with Alexander Fiterstein, and received a Bachelor of Music degree in clarinet performance from Augsburg College under the guidance of Jennifer Gerth. Additionally, she has studied with Marlene Pauley, Leigh Wakefield, and Ellen Kniebel.
